Merchandising is one of the best-paid non-technical roles in the jewellery trade, and one of the least understood.

The job

Taking a buyer's requirement, getting it costed and sampled, and driving it through production to delivery on time.

What it needs

Organisation, follow-up, and enough technical knowledge to know when a promise is unrealistic.

Who does well

People who like coordinating and can hold ten things in order. Bench experience helps but is not required.
